Spenlow dies suddenly, leaving Dora an orphan in the care of her two aunts. Micawber and his wife are both on the edge of financial ruin, but they don't let it get their spirits down too much. Soon, Dora dies, but David is too preoccupied dealing with the fallout from Mr. He also meets Tommy Traddles who is boarding with the Micawber's, bringing the delightful but economically useless character back into the story. When they arrive at the school, David finds out that he has arrived during a break and the other boys are gone. He decides to move to Australia, where Little Em'ly can start a new life, as does the Micawber family.
The difficulty of being an adult, of marrying, of finding love and of getting on feel very real and shine from every page of this delightful book. So, the long and short of it is that Miss Betsey is totally out of luck, and she's come to ask David to rise to the occasion and support her. But this partnership is not a just reward for hard work, oh no. Miss Betsey loves Dora, and comes to stay in David's house to nurse her. Murdstone has designs on David's mother. Lady Pegotty, helper of domestic works, will be nanny of David later. Murdstone is a stern, cruel man who flatters the sweet, young Mrs.
After she suffers a miscarriage, she never regains her strength and she dies. Micawber, but nothing ever turns up — so they get deeper and deeper into debt. David eventually meets a young girl named Dora and marries her at the age of twenty one in which time he becomes a successful writer. About two months later, Peggotty invites David to spend a fortnight with her at her brother's place at Yarmouth. When he and Peggotty return home, however, David learns that his mother and Mr.
Creakle thanks Steerforth for protecting Salem House's reputation, and the boys applaud though David feels miserable.
