In the Common Sense text, and the Plain Truth, both authors Thomas Paine and James Chalmers had a statement and a message that they wanted to deliver to the whole world. Although they both might disagree with some points, however, they have the same main point.
The term implies that the binding is modern, or recent, unless otherwise specified. The regiment often faced problems with numbers, due to death from disease and desertion. Even radical John Adams, a man who was pushing hard for independence, was nervous about Paine's brand of unregulated democracy.
