Comics exist to expose the ethnic representations that seek to control the development of collective perceptions, memories and emotions and especially fear by investigating the techniques through which this control is maintained. Something I have grappled with throughout my life as a secular Jew. I feel like the anthropomorphism was. Wholy crap the amount of detail in this book. It is worth every minute you spend with it. They do a fantastic job and we're very happy that they were there to take care of you! Vladek on the other hand, still relives the horror of the Holocaust in his trivial arguments with Mala or his reminiscing of the war. What we have in Metamaus is everything you wanted to know — and quite likely a whole lot more — about this great work.
